Singsation is a fun and exciting competition we are having for boys in grades 3-8. Each boy is asked to prepare to sing any song of his choosing (secular, sacred, pop, etc.) to perform in front of a panel of judges. We will provide a pianist and award valuable prizes to the best performers. Though it is sponsored by St. Peter's, this is not a religious event.

Why are we doing this? In conversations with parents of our Boys' Choir, it became clear that one reason our choir is smaller than it used to be is that boys tend to be channeled into sports rather than music. Many of our choir members are successfully active in both. So we came up with the idea of an event that would try, in its own small way, to counter that stereotype. We want to lift up and encourage all boys who enjoy music and singing!

Although this is a competition, it is designed as an informal event where boys can socialize with other boys who share similar interests and where they can get feedback from professional singers and musicians, who will serve as judges.

To register, simply provide us with some basic information (see attached registration form in PDF format) including the song you wish to sing.
