Proceeds from the local sale of crafts made in Africa aid the poor in the Church of East Africa. |
| Appalachian Outreach |
One example of an annual hands-on, or "mission trip" activity, by our youth. |
| Blood Drive |
Twice a year sponsorship of an on-site Blood Drive in the Parish House. |
| Bread for the World |
Addressing world hunger and debt relieve through direct aid, as well as advocacy for systemic change at the governmental policy level. |
| Celebrating Diversity |
Interfaith community antiracism initiative on July 3rd sponsored by local Clergy Council and others. |
| Collinsville Child Care Center |
Independent preschool program for low-income homes; housed on campus since 1972. St. Peter's provides volunteer teaching aids and some financial assistance. |
| Morristown Correctional Facility-Chaplaincy Services |
A new initiative to place a Protestant Chaplain in the local jail twenty-hours a week. An outgrowth of the former Community Corrections Council. |
| Community Soup Kitchen |
Launched by St. Peter's in 1984. Now an independent NFP hosted at Redeemer weekdays, and St. Peter's on Saturdays. |
| Companionship |
A relationship with the Dalits of the Kothapallimitta Pastorate in the Diocese of Madras, Church of South India aimed at building mutual understanding and support. Click here to learn more. |
| Diocesan CDC's |
Community Development Corporations enable faith-based initiatives to access public funds. Currently the Diocese of Newark has twelve CDC's; St. Peter's has supported several. |
| Direct Aid |
Responding to the immediate needs of walk-ins and referrals from Our Place. |
| Giving Tree |
Parish-wide holiday event for gatherings gifts for those in need within various organizations. |
| Eracism |
Through structured Antiracism Dialogues and other venues Eracism works at addressing the problem of racism in our church, community, nation, and the world. |
| Homeless Solutions |
Provides short-term and long-term shelter and housing assistance for the working poor. |
| HS Shelter |
Parishioners provide Sunday meal for those living at the Homeless Solutions Shelter. |
| Interfaith Food Pantry |
A supplemental feeding program for Morris County. |
| Lafayette 4-H |
Reaches out to youth at risk who are from the forgotten middle-income families in the community and who do not "qualify" for other government supported programs. |
| MLK Committee |
A community-wide birthday celebration centered on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. |
| Morristown Youth Summit |
An annual weekend program aimed at the needs of local youth. Several local churches are engaged. |
| The Oasis |
A mission and ministry of the Episcopal Church of Newark with gay and lesbian people, including their family and friends; promotes reconciliation between the lesbian and gay community and the Church through evangelical outreach, pastoral care, education, and advocacy. |
| Our Place |
A day shelter where the homeless, sheltered homeless, people with addictions, mental illness, and the marginally poor can find safety, shelter, and guidance. |
| Morristown Memorial Hospital-Prot. Chaplaincy |
An organization of clergy and laypeople that provide chaplaincy services, part of the salary of the Pastoral Care Manager, financial support of "on-call" clergy; and as well providing for parish nursing programs, spiritual care for those without a spiritual home, and the un-churched. |
| Youth Consultation Services |
A multidimensional program serving children, youth and families in New Jersey. |
| Wind of the Spirit |
An organization of people of faith, immigrants and non-immigrants, who have joined together to form a community of mutual help and support, including the Immigrant Resource Center. |
