St. Peter's Fall Festival Postponed
The snow means that we've changed our plans for the Fall Festival.
Fall Festival will now be on Sunday November 13th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., come rain or shine!
A 9/11 Memorial
This year we commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. On Sunday, September 11th at our 10 am service we will mark the occasion with anthems, songs, readings, and special rites; we invite all in our community to join us. If there is someone that you would like to remember at our service - a loved one, a friend- please email bsnyder@stpetersmorristown.org and let us know the name of the person(s) you'd like remembered at this special memorial service.
Parishioners Ted and Ann Probert will dedicate a memorial plaque, to be mounted on the wall of the Narthex, in memory and honor of those who lost their lives that day. Parishioner and U.S. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen will read a poem for the occasion, and parishioner Bret Sharretts will lead Boy Scouts from Troop #228 in the presentation of the colors. And, of course, the St. Peter's choirs will sing anthems and music for the day.
Then, at 7 o'clock the same evening, St. Peter's will take part in another community memorial at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts just across South Street.
Please let friends and neighbors know about our 10 o'clock service, and about the memorial at the Mayo Center - particularly those who may not have a community to gather with on the day. Everybody is most welcome to attend our morning service, as always.
St. Peter's Parish Picnic: September 18
We're looking forward to a wonderful time together at St. Peter's Annual Picnic on Sunday, September 18, immediately following the 10 o'clock service (starting time around 11:30). September is always beautiful in our area, and this should be a great day of food, fun, entertainment and games. All parishioners and their families are invited to participate.
Ticket prices are:
- $7.00 per adult (18+ years)
- $5.00 per child (5-18 years)
- $20.00 per family (maximum)
Please buy your tickets in advance; it's very helpful for planning purposes if we know how many people are coming and can have enough of everything on hand. And please invite friends and neighbors to come as well; they will be most welcome to join us.
You can buy tickets to the picnic online at the Picnic Home Page. Just sign up following the instructions onscreen; you can use your credit card, or a PayPal account (if you have one). Or you can purchase tickets by check or with cash at the Parish Office or at church on Sunday.
See you on the 18th!
