Brian Harlow

Brian Preston Harlow arrived at St. Peter's in January 2007 as Director of Music & Organist. His responsibilities include the direction of six choirs and the coordination of the highly acclaimed Music at St. Peter's Concert Series.

“St. Peter’s is blessed to have one of the great young talents in sacred music to lead our music programs,” said the Reverend Gary Nicolosi, Rector of St. Peter’s. “Brian has the musicianship and the vitality to make St. Peter’s music something special for many years to come.”

Prior to his appointment at St. Peter’s, Mr. Harlow was the Interim Director of Music at First United Church of Christ in Milford, Connecticut. He has also served two prominent churches in Manhattan: as Associate Organist at St. James’ Church, Madison Avenue, and as the last Assistant Organist to serve under the leadership of Gerre Hancock at Saint Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue.

Mr. Harlow holds the Master of Musical Arts degree and the Master of Music degree from Yale University School of Music and the Bachelor of Music degree with High Distinction from Indiana University School of Music.  He received the Faculty Prize of the Yale Institute of Sacred Music for exemplifying the ideals of the Institute.  Mr. Harlow also attended Eton College as an International Scholar and Groton School, where he served as interim Organist and Choirmaster for the 2001-2002 academic year. He has given a number of recitals in the United States and England and is an Associate of the American Guild of Organists.

Edward Landin, Assistant Organist

Edward Landin is a student of Ken Cowan at Westminster Choir College. He previously studied organ with William Porter at The Eastman School of Music and with Thomas Bara at The Interlochen Center for the Arts. As a boy, Edward attended The Saint Thomas Choir School in New York where he received the T. Tertius Noble award as Head Chorister. Edward was recently Organist at Yardley United Methodist Church in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He has also served at Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches in Rochester, New York, and at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. 

Edward has given organ recitals at churches in Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York, and has upcoming performances at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue and The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in Manhattan. Edward has had additional private study and has attended masterclasses with notable teachers such as Gerre and Judith Hancock, Diane Meredith Belcher Todd Wilson and David Higgs. Edward has also studied piano, harpsichord and keyboard technique.
