Outreach
Outreach in the community and the world has long been an important part of St. Peter's mission. In fact, it is one of our "four pillars." The mission of the Outreach Commission is simple: "to seek and serve Christ in all persons," and we carry out this mission in three dimensions: grantmaking, direct service, and advocacy.
St. Peter's outreach is coordinated by the Outreach Commission - a body of twelve people who are elected or appointed to a three-year term. Commission members choose their own chair and one member is always a member of the vestry. The rector, and/or a designated clergyperson advise the Commission and may also recommend projects for consideration. Permission is secured from the vestry for all fund-raising projects, and the vestry ratifies all recommendations for grants.
