Fellowship
Adult Education and Coffee Hour
Programs are held each Sunday following the 11:15 service and once a month following the 7:45 service. (Coffee and goodies are available for the Adult Education session following the 9:00 service, too.) Our sexton makes the coffee; two parishioners each week provide cookies, coffee cakes, or cheese and fruit platters. Two parishioners coordinate this activity, recruiting volunteers and assigning hosts for each coffee hour. This is a fine opportunity for fellowship, and greeters keep their eyes open for newcomers and introduce them to other parishioners.
Choral Evensong/Supper
We usually have a potluck-style supper after Sunday evening Choral Evensong. This meal often has a theme; one such evening focussed on international foods. In the past, we've hosted other parishes for Superbowl viewing and other events.
The Thursday Luncheon Group
The Thursday Luncheon Group meets one Thursday each month from September through May for a potluck lunch with speaker - either a parishioner or someone from outside the parish. Once a year they have a trip to the theater with lunch. This is a lively group of about 25-30 men and women, and all are welcome to attend.
MOIPS
MOIPS (Mothers of Infants and Pre-Schoolers) is a group that is part education and part fellowship. As its name suggests, it is a group of mothers (although fathers and grandparents are welcome) who meet every other week to offer friendship, information and support to caregivers of young children. It has 5-10 participants of which two-thirds are members of St. Peter's. It also takes occasional field trips to child-centered activities and has offered infant/child CPR training. Members have also become involved with inreach and outreach ministries at St. Peter's and have initiated new ministries, such as a spiritually-oriented women's book club and a scrapbook club.
Scrapbooking Club
The St. Peter's Scrapbook Club offers parishioners and community members a chance to enjoy fellowship while learning about scrapbooking, working on scrapbook or photo albums, or organizing their photos. We meet one evening a month and occasionally hold all-day events at the church. All are welcome. Contact: Sharon Hausman.
Other Fellowship Activities
A parish-wide picnic is held on the Great Lawn each June, and there are occasional Sunday parish breakfast fundraisers. For many years, too, St. Peter's has enjoyed a well-attended Shrove Tuesday supper and program.
In June 2008, we held an open-invitation evening of Indian food, music, and dance, in celebration of the completion of the St. Peter's School in Kothapallimitta, India.
