Diocesan Convention
The Diocese of Newark comprises all the Episcopal parishes in the northern half of the State of New Jersey. To be an official Episcopal parish means to be "in union with the Diocesan Convention." Headed by Bishop Mark Beckwith, Diocesan Convention is an annual legislative meeting comprised of delegates from each of the 156 parishes in the diocese. St. Peter's delegates to Diocesan Convention, and their year of term completion, are:

District Convocation
The congregations of the Diocese are divided into ten districts. St. Peter's is located in District 3 along with the churches from Dover, Livingston, Millington, Morris Plains, Morristown, Parsippany and West Orange. The purpose of the Districts are to facilitate communication between parishes, the Bishop and the Diocesan Council. Meetings are held quarterly, programs, confirmations and concerns are shared and representatives to the Diocesan Council are elected.
