Labyrinth Intergenerational Event

Creation of Prayer Labyrinth – An Intergenerational Event – March 10th, 10 AM

On March 10th during our Christian education hour, children and adults painted a large, canvas labyrinth. Labyrinths are spiral-patterned walkways that people have used for thousands of years as tools for meditation, contemplation and prayer. The St. Peter’s labyrinth will be available Maundy Thursday for parishioners and visitors to “walk” as part of their Holy Week journey.

Church School

Sunday Church School for Grades PreK-8: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Joining the Church School at Saint Peter's enables children to have a safe and sacred place to seek answers, discover truth and learn to grow in the grace of God daily.  Our program allows children to explore and grow their faith, and acquire a foundation in the history of God's saving work among God's people.

Using the Bible, The Book of Common Prayer and other creative resources, our enthusiastic and caring teachers create the opportunity for our children to  begin to understand what it means to be a Christian in today's world.

If you'd like to enroll your child, please fill out the Church School Registration Form (PDF) and return it to the church office.

Christian Education through Inter-generational Events

In addition to our Church school curriculum, other opportunities to experience fun and learning exist throughout the year in the form of Intergenerational activities. These events are created to involve the youth, their families and congregation members of all ages. A wide range of topics  are  studied while weaving our sacred story and traditions into a joyful Sunday-morning experience.

Past events have included, the planting of the Children’s Creation Garden, The Fall Harvest Festival, The Empty Bowls Food Intake Event, The Advent Wreath Project, The Christmas Pageant, The Underground Railroad Event, The Children’s Ash Wednesday Service, The Children’s Good Friday Service, The Children’s Arts Festival, The Poetry Reading Coffee House, and the Youth Sunday Service.

Confirmation

Students can be confirmed as early as 8th grade.  The 7th and 8th grade Church school classes are  designated for Confirmation preparation and  meet weekly after the 9 AM Service.

Nursery Care

Supervision during church services for our youngest members  (infants and toddlers) is provided in our nursery room and begins at 9 AM through the completion of the 11:15 service. This care is also provided during special church events and holiday services.
